Standard Auction Terms and Conditions

Most auctions operate under standard terms and conditions which outline the obligations of the sellers, bidders and buyers.

Conditions of Sale usually include the following provisions:

1 - The highest bidder is the purchaser, subject to any reserve price.

2 - The auctioneer may refuse to accept any bid that, in the auctioneer's opinion, is not in the best interests of the seller.

3 - One bid only may be made on behalf of the seller. This includes the bid made by the Auctioneer on behalf of the seller.

4 - The buyer is deemed to have inspected the goods carefully before auction and shall not be entitled to reject any lot or claim compensation on the basis that the goods were incorrectly described.

5 - A bid by a person shall be deemed as proof that the person has acquainted himself/herself with the terms and conditions of sale.

6 - In the event of a disputed bid the lot or lots shall be put up again and resold.

7 - All lots to be removed from the auction venue on the day of auction.

8 - Full payment must be received before any lot is removed from the auction venue.

9 - The vendors will not be held responsible for any damage or loss that may take place after the fall of the hammer. All lots become the responsibility of the purchaser.

10 - Any person attempting to prevent another person from bidding, therefore having an effect on the final price, may be deemed guilty of an offence under the provisions of the Auction Sales Act.

11 - All lots to be paid for at the completion of the auction. Payment by Cash, Visa, Mastercard or Bankcard. 12% Buyers premium applies.

12 - A bid cannot be made or accepted after the fall of the hammer.

ALL INTENDING PURCHASERS MUST REGISTER PRIOR TO THE AUCTION AND OBTAIN A BIDDING NUMBER.
